Homemade Ketchup

by on June 9, 2012 » Add the second comment.

Most ketchup is loaded with HFCS, is 25% sugar, and is loaded with sodium. Make it at home with fresh ingredients for your next BBQ.

Ingredients:
- 3 cups fresh tomatoes (run thru food processor)
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 2/3 brown sugar
- pitch of sea salt

Direction:
In a medium sized pot heat olive oil and brown onion. Add all ingredients and simmer uncovered for 1 hour (stir frequently). Cool, puree, and place in fridge.
