Success Story — 70 lbs Lighter:

“First off, I went from 240 to 170 = 70lb loss.  This August is my year  anniversary since I got motivated.  My main motivation was my age and I have two more kids to chase around.  I figured if I just kept gaining a pound or two a year for the rest of my life I would ultimately become beyond obese.  I weighted 180 in 1988.  That means I gained an average of a little more than 3 pound a year up to 2010. I simply just wanted to have as much energy as possible to make my two little ones’ early years as enjoyable as they were for my older son.  Can you imagine if my excuses that I could not get down on the floor and get silly with them was because I was too fat?  No way could I or would I let that happen!

Losing weight happens for a reason.  You have to ask yourself, what did you do / eat to get so heavy?  First off – journal your food intake!  Every single thing, no matter how insignificant it may seem, even a five calorie pickle.  You have to be honest with yourself or you will never get to your goal.  Second, set the goals high!  I began by eating 1,500 calories a day for months, which included lots of lean protein and whole grain carbs.  Yes I went to bed hungry every night, but every morning I was waking up seeing and feeling a difference.

You have to exercise, at least 30 minutes a day - everyday!  Just a brisk walk will do, but it has to be done – no excuses!  The key to my success is logging my intake and movement every single day, even on the days I knew I blew it calorie wise and being honest!  Remember you are only lying to yourself!  Weight loss is a simple mathematical formula:  calories in minus calories burned.  If you burn more then you take in you loss weight and visa versa.

There is no magic, you want it – you do it!” –AH
